3rd December

Unwrapped the car and fitted the leading Watts arms to the upper axle brackets. Apart from filing out the holes, which took most of the time, this was easy and finally I can see how it all works. The Panhard rod fitted fine but the trestle / axle stand heights I have mean that the rod won’t pass under the diff nose yet and locate to its bracket. I need to get the springs and dampers in first so that the axle travel is right. Will have to beg borrow or find a spring compressor. Can’t see how the bolt head at the chassis mounting end of the Panhard rod is going to slot into the angle of the chassis frame – there is not enough space. E-mailed a photo to Martin today. Woke up early on Monday and explored some of the other websites – you don’t need a spring compressor, it just slides over the shock!
