Late this afternoon I started on the front brakes. Pretty simple job to run the copper pipe around the front and make the joint for the left and right hubs. Then I got out the tunnel panels which I thought would need modifying after the chassis welding but they just needed little extensions to the existing holes.
On close examination the gearbox fill plug is directly behind the footwell upright. Accessible now by means of a tube and funnel but I'll leave the panel off until I see how the body changes things.
Per Neville I wound the coil springs up as far as I could then packed up for the night.
