Changed the broken gearbox switch. Tidied up the loom - there is far too much length in it but I don't relish the idea of shortening all the critical wires until I know if it will work or not. Surprised myself by being left with all the right bits and finding a home / possible route for everything. I checked several components for continuity but some of them are dirty and Hey!, what do I know about ohms? On some I got the reading in the manual, on some I did not. I think the next stage may be to get the fuel pipes tidied up, the radiator and so on in, stick some cheap oil in the engine, then connect the ignition and a battery and watch what happens!
